You can jump down if you just want the movie reviews. Search engines are great. Type something like "Download New Release Movies", or type in "Online Movie Rental Canada" and you will find sites that are related to your search. Typing in "Movie Rental Software" will get you even more sites to look at.

Airplane: Extremely ludicrous spoof of Airport-type with a continuous amount of gags that keeps up almost to the end. Our top choice: the bizarre plight of Lt. Hurwitz. Stay tuned through the very last credits. Cast includes Robert Hays, Julie Hagerty, Robert Pile, Lloyd Bridges, Peter Graves, Kareem Abdul Jabbar, Leslie Nielsen, Loma Patterson, and Stephen Stucker. (100 minutes, 1984)

8MM: Small time surveillance expert Tom Wells is hired to find out if a snuff film is authentic or not. This sends him into the seedy world of pornography. After getting this deep, he has to take it one step further, and go into the darkest corner of the porn world.

Above and Beyond: Above and Beyond is a gripping recount of the story of the men who dropped the atomic bombs on Hiroshima. The movie puts the burden of what they did in perspective though the eyes of these men. Stars Robert Taylor, Eleanor Parker, James Whitmore, and Jim Backus. (1952 Military)

Slate: Strolling tirade of brothers Burke and Sacks, who pillage a bank, slaughter a cop and abduct Thornton, who witnesses their offense. Conceivably captivating story falls flat after 20 seconds. Cast includes Sigrid Thornton, Simon Burke, Martin Sacks, Tommy Lewis, and Lesley Baker. (90 minutes, 1987)

Cry the Beloved Country: Easy going back country pastor voyages to Johannesburg looking for his child, when destiny links his road with that of a prosperous, bigoted white landowner. This heart rending tale journals the racial divisiveness at its roots in South Africa, without resorting to preaching. Cast includes Canada Lee, Charles Carson, Sidney Poitier, Geoffrey Eager, Reginald Ngeabo, and Joyce Carey. (111 minutes, 1951)

The Admirable Crichton: An often filmed James Barrie classic that is a bit boring. The flawless servant demonstrates to be most industrious while he and his aristocratic administrators are shipwrecked on an island. Kenneth More, Diane Cilento, Cecil Parker, Sally Ann Howes, and Marrita star. Directed by Lewis Gilbert (1957-British Adventure-94 minutes)

The Iron Mask: Amusing Dumas story later filmed from an informed from point of view of D'Artagnan Fairbanks, who gets to be Louis XIV's safeguarded from birth to a later time. While planning, Rochefort Haupt tries to pass off as a double sibling as an heir to the throne. This lavish, quiet, swashbuckler initially had talking patterns. The very last scenes are particularly poignant as this was Doug's goodbye to the swashbuckling genre. Most present prints are of the 1940 reissue with narration by Douglas Fairbanks, Jr. Cast includes Douglas Fairbanks, Belle Bennett, Marguerite De La Motte, Dorothy Revier, Nigel de Brulier, and Ullrich Haupt. (87 minutes, 1929)

Dunston Checks In: Simple-to-take babies' comedy in regards to the sons of a tough-performing hotel supervisor who find that an orangutan has been snaked into the establishment by a clever robber. Alexander is phenomenal, the babies are appealing, the orangutan is just right, Everett does a Thomas homage, Dunaway goes dry, and everyone has a good time, including the spectators. Cast includes Jason Alexander, Faye Dunaway, Eric Lloyd, Rupert Everett, Graham Sack, Paul Reubens, and Jennifer Bassey. (88 minutes, 1996)

Dan in Real Life: Friendly comedy-drama of newspaper columnist Dan (Carell), the doting although harried single dad of 3 baby girls. While the family heads off to the Northeast for a holy day at his parents' seaside home, this widowed dad impulsively meets somebody (Binoche) who appears to be exact for him. The family reunion is replete with family member rivalries, secrets, and resentments. This film manages to ascend above recognizable sitcom level to be an amusing take on middle-aged affairs of the heart. Cast includes Steve Carell, Juliette Binoche, Dane Chef, Dianne West, John Mahoney, Alison Pill, Emily Obtuse, Amy Ryan, Norbert Leo Butz, and Jessica Hecht. (98 minutes, 2007)
